Kelly, I'd like a couple MN boys to come out and look your car over. Call it a second opinion of sorts.

Hey Kelly, stil have the car -saw it posted for sale over at Craigs.
I'd be willing to come down there Friday or Saturday and take a look/see as to what the problem is, if it'* an easy fix, I have a 93 parts car I can sell (cheap) motor parts off of to you (inside the motor is bad, but any parts mounted to the engine are good).
I'm kinda wondering about your harmonic balancer pulley.

BTW, my brother Tom e-mailed you. He hasn't told me whether or not he'* talked to you since.

Be certain it isn't the balancer if your going to sell the car cheap because it makes that sound. It is easy to find out. Look at the pulley right at the bottom of the engine. When it'* moving, does the inside not turn with the outside? Are there bits of rubber under it? And when the engine is off, how much play is there in the accessory belt?

For comparison sake, this is what a bad harmonic balancer sounds like. I did mine a few weeks ago.

Harmonic balancer can be a very real possibility, but would be represented by serious clatter at idle, then smooths out under accelleration.

My 95 just went through this. I'll be doing the 93 before it fails (don't want it letting go at the Salt Flats next summer).
