Default How to fix a CD player? It just clicks

one cd was sorta ok, it went in played but will not eject...I pulled the unit and used the manual eject feature....now it no longer plays CDs, it will not insert, nor eject them, I just hear a clicking sound, has anyone successfully fixed this? I know its a common problem on these cd players.

Its a 92-93 CD unit.

That will come down to the transport mechanism being bad. Can't say I've ever paid attention to know there was a manual eject on the players.

Buddy at a stereo shop told me it'* about $80-$120 to get the mechanisms replaced and working like new.

Repair consists of removing old unit, putting in replacement.
