Could you hear the intake growl?

And did you cut the front of the box off too? The little hole is smaller than the trottle plate...lol

If the hiss is horrible bad you may need to remove the throttle body and do a full throttle body cleaning... Mine hissed like crazy untill I pulled the TB and removed the IAC so that I could clean the IAC passages as well.... Now it doesn't hiss half as bad.... Here is a pic of what the back side of the throttle body looked like when I pulled it..

Before

After

If you look at this last pic, Just above the throttle plate where you see the channel, in the upper part of the channel resides the Idle Air Controler... Hope that helps... I'll come up and take care of it for you, after I buy some ratchet wrenches...lol

That buildup is caused by, Unburned fuel, PCV vapors, and EGR.... I think EGR would be the main thing...

Yep, my EGR is located right past the TB.. but on the Intake. Not two inches from the TB either. Basically, that means that my [and your'*] will be/is covered in hard carbon and just all around ****. If only our engines would just have fresh air pass through the intake.. then we wouldn't have any problems.
