Default Gauge cluster problem

Im sure the cluster is just bad from old age, but I was wondering if this is a common problem. The needles for oil pressure and coolant temp just kind hang out whereever they choose, and the other needles are kind of jumpy and when the car is shut off they just stop where they were, and the driver informatio center doesnt always come on....
