Friend having problems fixing leak on 96 Olds 88 LS
A friend of mine bought a 96 Olds (L36) and it had a typical coolant leak that I'm used to. It was kinda bad and leaking onto the front exhaust manifold and burning off within moments of starting the engine. He replaced the upper intake, lower intake, TB, and t-stat gaskets. It'* still leaking but not sure where from. When you look from below it'* dripping from the passenger side. He doesn't know if its still burning off the front manifold, but he mentioned something about smoke still. I'm probably gonna head over there and take a look soon anyways 'cause I'm not sure what to make of it.
Could this be the waterpump or maybe even the heads? I didn't think the heads leaked often on these engines.

On the passenger side, check the coolant elbow; they often fail. Also there is an o-ring on the firewall end of the tensioner assembly that seals coolant flow that can fail. Also check the lower radiator hose fitting and the weep hole on the water pump. Coolant can wick out of a couple of the water pump bolts if that has been replaced lately. Those bolts are supposed to be installed with thread sealant. I think they are the 4 larger bolts but I wouldn't swear to it. Heater hose fittings into the tensioner assembly are another possibility.
