Default External trans coolers -- where did you mount yours?

Hi guys, I'm going to add an external trans cooler to my 1997 LeSabre because I really don't feel like changing the newly installed trans any time soon. I was going to get a smallish (12x8x3/4") external cooler and mount it on the front of the radiator, towards the bottom so you can't see it through my "waterfall" buick grille. Is this where everyone else has their cooler mounted? I'm going to be adding a trans temp gauge shortly as well. I've never had an automatic cause the fluid to smell like my 4T60E does -- it definitely smells like it gets the fluid hot enough to varnish, and this makes me really nervous.
