if your replacing it with what ya had then itll pretty much be bolt up and plug in for most hte jobby. make sure everything your not replacing is still in good condition since you can check engine mounts n such easily now(that the engine is out)

From reading around, I know it wouldn't be worth it to go with the SC engine because of $$. I'm just looking to put another identical engine in it (3800 Series II na). Same thing that was in it before...don't want too many headaches

If you have a car lift.. droppin the engine would be easier.. if you don't.. then lift.. but you'll have to remove the rad and be careful.. that thing is heavy and can cause major damage to the car even if rocked against the car when it'* loose.. you have a series II with OBD I. And yes ensure that everything else is good while you have it apart engine mount and bushings. The last thing you need is to skip checkin one thing and having to have to pull the mill back out all over again. And trust me.. I"ve had to back track and redo a lot of pain in the *** things cause I missed one step and or forgot to check something out.
