Default Drivers Seat Not Staying Up

Crusing around town with the bonnie and low and behold the darn seat just gave out me. The mechanical part that allows adjustment forward and back is just not holding. It made this loud grinding sound and I was laying flat on my back. I messed with the handle and managed to get the seat to stay up but when mild pressure is applied to it is slips all the way back down to the rear seat. Has anyone ever had this problem? Do you think I will need a whole new seat or maybe just some new hardware for the adjuster? Is it hard to remove the drivers side seat? There are electric controls for forward and back and up and down(no problems with the electric motors), but mechanical controls for the upper back support to move forward and back. BTW my seats are the 60/40 type with the arm rest in the middle. Any help would be Awsome!

i'm thinking you just need a new motor for it shouldn't have to go to the extreme with a whole new seat sounds like the gears in the motor are just getting stripped and not holding anymore

On the 60/40 you only have a manual handle for adjustment, right?

I'd be off to the local JY for some parts or a fresh seat.
