Driver front Axle question. CV Joint.
Woot woot...old is out.. new is gonna go in.
I see many wrong parts listed. It'* very common. A 2004-2006 L32 SC motor doesn't have the same SC gasket as a 96-99, but yet.. that'* what the parts counters show at 3 different places.

I went bright and early to the parts place and presented my case with pictures FSM'* and detailed explanation. I told him that I got the passenger side rather than the drivers side. He didn't really seemed to look carefully but said he would order another one. I left him all the paper work, but before I left he mentioned that the part number on the CV axle shaft was correct and that it must have been labeled wrong. I just got a call saying that the new one was the same and that he thought they may have been boxed wrong and that he would try again.

At this point bill, I'll be happy just to get the right part and the car back. Sucks to be without a car in this weather. One thing I forgot to mention is that I also ordered a new seal which maybe you or someone else recommended. Price for the seal is $20.00 Canadian. I havent received a call back yet so I still have my fingers crossed.

I have in the past had an arguement with the parts counter guy who told me I was wrong... I looked at the part and told him, um no thats not the right part.. He said " Its what is called for"... I told him I didn't care what was called for in their system, Its the wrong part and the Company has it screwed up in the system and I'll bet you guys have had this issue before as the 3800 line is a popular motor... We went in circles... Finally I got the other guy that knew me to come over.. He said, if he says its the wrong part that means its the wrong part... We need to find the right part... we searched through the years for a diffrent number and lo and behold... Poof it was listed under the wrong year... But it was exactly what I was looking for... Had the same issues with a Coolant bypass hose as well.. we just went right to the back of the store and searched the stock... Bam there was the hose I needed.. It was again listed wrong in their system

I received another call the the Parts Place and he told me that the second one they received was the same as the one I had, therefore they now have the one I brought in and 2 more which makes that 3 that are wrong. He told me he went with another supplier and this times it looks right. I picked it up along with the new seal, (which by the way has a list price of $36.63 Pt# 710096 Federal Mogul Oil Seal) and we'll see how it fits tomorrow. Unfortuantly I just found out my son has a fever of 102.1 so he may not be going to school tomorrow.

I'm trying to find the torque specs for the drivers side 34 mm nut that holds the CV joint transaxle inside the front hub bearings. I think it'* listed in the RE & Re Front Hub Bearing, but I can't seem to find it. I thought it was around 70 ft lbs.
