A/C Trouble
I have a '96 supercharged. Has the automatic climate control. When I bought it the seller told me that the AC was fine, except there was "some sort of switch that needs to be replaced under the dash". I took the car to my mechanic and he told me that the AC system was completely empty of freon. However, it doesn't blow any cold air at all, in fact it is as hot as I think it can get. I'm pretty sure its the Temperature Actuator Valve and I know where it is. Does anyone have a picture of what this valve looks like or know the gm or ac delco part number for this thing?

Not positive yet. We are in the middle of a blizzard here (which is why I finally have time to research this) so I haven't gotten out to the car to confirm. I have 3 mechanics in the family and they all seem to think that it would have something to do with this. The temperature display blinks when I start the car. I thought this just meant that it was getting the correct temperature, but now I'm starting to think that maybe it means there is a problem; am I right?
Is there any "proper" procedure for testing the actuator?

Hold out a while and see if some of the other guys answer... They may have more insight than I do when it comes to the ECC system on the 94+ cars... 93 and earlier actually flashed ECC codes... In 94 that feature was nixed

This is an article written by SSEMotorhead about upgrading the 93, and also replacing the air-mix actuator. Very well written, and you may find what you're looking for there.
