Default dies when accelerating

Hi. I have a 92 Bonneville SE with nearly 100,000 miles on it. I've recently had a problem with it. It just shuts down when under somewhat hard acceleration. If I am at a stoplight and I slowly accelerate, it'* okay. I only dies when I accelerate quickly. I ddin't see any previous postings for this problem, although some were similar such as the problem with fuel when going around turns, but my problem occurs on straight line acceleration also. I am able to put it in neutral and restart, but I have to take off slowly or it will happen again. This makes it very dangerous to have to pull out into a busy street. Any ideas on what is causing this?

Is the vehicle well mantained, routine tune-ups? Could be several things maybe your computer or plugs maybe....
