Follow that techinfo article. It'll cost you about $300 to do it yourself.

Did you ever change the oil?

Let'* back up here... What exactly did you change on it?

If you didn't change the oil, then you can kiss that motor goodbye. The coolant will eat at the bearings.

Did you install a new upper intake manifold? Did you install a new throttle body gasket? A new Upper Intake Manifold (UIM), UIM gasket, injector o-rings, TB gasket, aluminum frame Lower Intake Manifold (LIM) gaskets, and new coolant elbow can be had for less than $200 as specified in the Techinfo article linked for you above.

It is highly unlikely that coolant would be leaking from your cylinder head gasket to the outside of the car. Not impossible, but not very likely. Coolant leak to the outside is often a bad throttle body gasket. It could also be something really simple, like the bleeder valve on the gooseneck left open or a bad seal on the thermostat housing.

Can you list for us all the parts that you changed or had changed? Did you read Techinfo article 38?

Can you describe exactly where the steam is coming from or post a video of it.

did you follow all torque specs when you did this the first time?

and did you change the upper intake, and egr tube, or just the gasket?

cuz i dont know where the $400+ went. you can get an upper intake kit, and lower gaskets for less than 200.
