How much fuel is in the tank?

I'd skip the filter and aim straight to testing the fuel pressure.

ok this is very weird i was looking under the hood of the bonnie yesterday and i left the key on..so the fans were going and i was for some reason trying to get the transmission connector off and i was wiggling it and the fans stopped running so i tryed starting the car and it fired right up..any clues what could have caused that??

On the 95'*, the VATS disables the starter. Prevents it from being turned over.

Ogea21, when you were fumbling with the trans connector, did you remove the airbox and hose assembly?

yes i actually had it removed at the time but there was nothing there..just a plastic box and the rubber hose that leads to the throttle body..i know u should not have but i started with the air box off ran fine..

Oh no, I didn't mean that it was wrong for you to start it without the airbox assembly removed. I'm trying to think of what you might have bumped when you removed the airbox and hose that allowed the engine to start besides playing with the trans connector.
