i have a 95 bonneville and i think my computer might be shot...does anyone know how i can tell if my computer is bad?

What is the car doing, or not doing?

the fuel pump kicks in, the car gets spark, cranks just wont start..but the electric fans kick in right away as soon as u turn the key on the fans kick on..could this be a sensor or the computer?

i just remembered that i checked the injectors and they all have the correct amount of power running to them, and i seem to be getting fuel up the the rail just not a lot..could a clogged fuel filter be the problem?...basically my issue that i know of is the car is not getting fuel..

The filter is a easy low cost change, start with that. If no better, then you may need to look at the fuel pump.

but i just put the fuel pump in there..the whole thing pump/sending unit once piece and a new gas tank..

Then change the filter and see if that helps. Did you check for correct voltage at the fuel pump?

Have you verified you are actually getting fuel into the cylinders? Best way to find out is to crank it over a bit, then pull a sparkplug to see if its wet.

I see a lot of testing before swapping the computer.

For starters, please give us the story. You know the last time it ran, symptoms etc etc. The story is key in diagnosing some cars.

Next up, verify you have reasonable pressure at the fuel rail. If so, skip the fuel pump/filter thoughts. Being new it'* probably fine.

You said the injectors are getting power, our system provides 12v+ at the injectors and the pcm toggles the fuel. I don't remember if the 95'* security system kills the starter or the fuel. Mike...can you please look that up.

Last.. have you read the codes? If not, there could be something as little as a maf sensor causing it not to start.

No matter what.. it could be the computer....but in the testing/diagnosis of things..there is no clear way to know it'* bad w/o eliminating everything else.

it does not seem like its not getting enough fuel pressure ill have to get a new filter soon and see if that might help, i have not read the codes latly so i dont know for sure what its giving for codes, and i did check a sparkplug once and they were dry so almost like the injectors are not firing fuel into the motor...as for the last time it ran maybe a month ago and i was just turning a corner and the car without warning just died no lights came on or anything...
