I tried everything, the MAX AC, AC, heat, defrost, that metal rod did not move at all.

Replacing it is not fun, I suppose?

The air mix actuator, is it a part that you have to go to the junkyard for or can order a new one?

Is there a procedure somewhere that applies to my manual HVAC? not the ECC

Yep. When mine went south it was winter and, naturally, it stuck on cold. I merely bungeed mine at the hot setting until I was able to change the actuator. I didn't pull the rod off or anything. My gear was so bad that it didn't matter that the ECC still tried to move the door - the bungee held it hot.

When you say in the red..I think that you bought a recharge can at the parts store and didn't check in an FSM as to the actual pressure needed for your system to run. Those gauges are at best a poor indicator of "average" expected pressure. This past summer I ended up educating a member on what the actual pressure should have been when he opened the FSM. His AC now works much better.

I don't have the pressure for your system. However..find it and get the system up to the right pressure. See if that doesn't help out.

You're lying upside down on your passenger seat, does the arm need to move to the left (towards the passenger door) or to the right (towards the driver'* door) for A/C?

Okay, I reinspected it again.

I looked through the "viewholes" I'm going to be honest, that "rod" I saw turned out to be wire...
Next, I looked through both holes and I could not find the actuator, so I took off the bottom "guard" and looked up. I found it and tried to move it manually, it did not budge.

Next, I started the car and moved the thermostat (cold to hot, then hot to cold). I had my hand on the actuator itself (long arms rules!!! I wasn't even laying down!) and it moved smoothly and flawlessly. So the actuator is elimnated.

My next thought? Low freon possibly, because recently it'* starting to blow mild air, not hot but not cold cold but I would say maybe 62-68*

The "manual" climate control is obviously much different than the ECC. Glad you found the actuator and it'* now out of the equation. Follow the recommendations above and properly charge the system (or at least check the pressure).

BTW, I can't think of a single occasion where a manually controlled system has a hosed airmix actuator. Seems oddly isolated to the ECC systems - at least from what I've seen. :?
