Last week, I charged my A/C, converted it over to R-134a. It lasted a week, and it got warm again. It seems like right before it completely died, it was kicking on and off. Well, I thought it leaked outm because the car has a small leak somewhere, but the previous owner said it would hold a charge the whole summer. so I went to go see if their was a charge. I just slightly took a scrwdriver to the valve, and it shot out, with extreme pressure. Frustrated and confused, and tapped another can of the stuff into the system. Wasn't getting cold. Not at all. So I turned the car off, and started it again, BOOM, ice cold. Drive around for awhile, and it worked great. I go go home, and take a shower, and get ready to go cruise. Get back in the car. Warm air.. what could be wrong? I drove home tonight, from where my car was smashed, and the air kicked on, but not really cold. Is it my compressor or something?

How is your Cycling Switch? :?

i dont even know what that is, lol.. it seemed sometimes when i switched from a/c on to off, to back on, it would then kick on..

Your High Pressure Cutoff Switch or Cycling Switch controls when the AC Compressor cuts in & out. It'* usally located near the Receiver/Dryer or Accummulator.

Well at least you know what that cold air felt like. My 96 A/C doesn't work, it makes a god awful noise if I turn it on, took it to the dealer and said the compresser is out and something else I forget, a 96 Bonny without A/C my 87 Old'* that I had work like a champ it would be as cold as can be, what would cause it to go out, I know it should'nt have gone out that quick.

I have the Electronic Climate Control option and at the coolest temp of 60 degrees, the air never gets that cold. I don't know if there'* a problem, if it is it'* minor. So I just open my moon roof and I'm happy.

If you're having air conditioning problems, it is a good idea to have the high and low side pressure checked while operating. A/C can be complicated, and it is also very sensitive to other conditions in its environment.
