Uhh, terribly sorry, and hate to intrude on your wallet-based grief, but...

Did you by any chance save the failed part? Or could you go and collect it from the garage?

I'll be happy to pay shipping costs if you could send it to me.

Default engine failure wtf

this was happening before the intake issue. any preventative mesures i can put into action? why the heck did i dump 700 into the dam thing if its just gonna die on me, definatly not worth putting in a new engine and definatly NOT what i need right now me and my gf are down to this car and if it dies were screwd. ill end up going back to buick probably 2. thanks JOhn van veen

Wish we had better news for you. Typical low pressure after a UIM is bad bearings. You mention this occurred before...... when was the last oil change, in miles?

water in oil = engine failure.

They dont like that normally. Often your intake will fail for a long time before total failure.....so you could have had small a amounts of water in your oil for months before..slowly rusting out yoru bearings.

you might be better finding an engine or dumping the car while it still runs.

They didn't change the oil? Thats not good....

And not to offend you or make you angry... The 3800 is a Buick Motor..

When my intake first died I had changed the oil and noticed that it was getting dirty in a hurry... I was using synthetic at the time... And put in more synthetic with the change... The the coolant level started doing a drop, till the point it was smoking( burning coolant )... I was slowly loosing coolant for a month.. Had the car at the dealership 3 or 4 diffrent times... They found nothing... The intake finally ruptured... And when it was repaired, they did not change the oil... I noticed the oil pressure was a bit off( lower than normal )... The oil was as thin as water and almost black again... It came out as thin as water... I refilled with somw cheap 10-30 and changed the oil and filter again a coupel hundred miles later... I got luck both that I was using synthetic, and that I'm a freak about oil changes... Sorry to see that you are having problem..

Change the oil, get an AC Delco PF47 Filter... See if the tick or tap goes away.... It just doesn't sound good from what you have described..
