LOL - I wish I had the expertise to buy one of those slick looking custom pillar gage holdlers I've seen here. There just isn't anywaher to mount a gauge as far as I can see. I did buy a gage, but have no where to mount it.

He'll be here tonight to pick it up. Hopefully have it back this week, but most likely Saturday, as he only works after hours.

I must say..

To remove and install...since all the bolts are going to come loose easy and not fight. You are talking 4-6 hours total.

It took me 12 total..but that includes cleaning the old motor (he won't do)
Removing parts (he won't do)
Removing old parts from the new motor (no need to do)
Adding them to new motor (won't need to do)
And then plunking it in (will do)
bolting up headers (exhaust is already on in your case)

And ...He'* got a lift?

Well, to be honest I've never seen his shop (never had a way to get there to check it out). I hope he has a lift - he works on the side non stop, so I'm assuming the answer is yes.

I agree about the time, based on your new comments and the other posts I've read here. But also he has a family, and I think it comes first. If I had a lift, with the help of you all, I'd do it myself.

I'm hoping that since he just changed it..... the time will be considerably shortened. I've also let him know many times that I'm really, really getting stir crazy. Not enough to be a pest, but he knows I'm basically a prisoner.

Well, she'* off at the mechanics now (he picked her up last night). One bummer I didn't notice but that he saw straight away (Sorry for the poor quality pic, but it was dark and all I have is my cell phone for pictures). I think it'* the water supply or return, bent and cracked. Not a huge deal, I have 2 other motors now I can get parts off of... but they (the salvage yard) don't cover labor, and it looks like there'* quite a bit of stuff that has to come apart to replace it :(

Still waiting. The new motor is in, but the mechanics basement flooded yesterday, so I'm not exactly at the top of the priority list.

And it'* still raining.
