I have the same problem with a 240 watt Amp in my car. except mine almost goes into the red until i kick up the engine. I do believe a 140 Amp alternator will remedy the problem though. Check your local auto zone for one made by AC Delco that will fit for around $100

i have a 140 amp stock but it redlineed many many times and wouldnt start after a long drive too but i finnaly broke down and boughta new 140 amp from napa lifetime warrenty 200 bucks but fora life time warrenty its worth it.

I have eaten 4 count em 4 Napa alternators and other than the pain of replacing them no extra cost. I have a line on much better alternators and will post them soon.

I need to buy a new alternator soon but its purely cosmetic. My car has the MOST annoying whine on it. I bought a rebuilt Delco (Gee my first mistake.. Delco ock) And that actually whined worse. so im saving up to get a much nicer one. I don't want to go crazy I just don't want my damn alternator whine to overpower my exhaust.
