My '95 FSM lists these:

A plugged valve may cause: rough idle, stalling or slow idle speed, oil leaks, sludge in engine

A leaking valve would cause: rough idle stalling, high idle speed.

Get the drop in K&N and gut the airbox. Its cheap and I gained about 5 mpg on the highway. And don't measure the air filter, call Advance Auto parts tell them what you drive and pay the man. Cheap and easy -- just like my women!
