Adam I'd say gmpartsdirect.com if you can't find it locally. They should have everything for the car. On getting to the part, Randman1 is probably one of the best sources as he just changed out some parts on his with the dash still in the car.

I bought my actuator at a local dealer. They had it in stock and it was only a couple bucks more than GMPD... without the wait. It was about $65.

I changed the HVAC programmer in my car recently. Along with the the large electrical connector that is easy to see and remove, there is a smaller connector that plugs directly into the actuator. I was able to manuver my meaty paws up to unplug this connector with the PCM removed. With the prgrammer and PCM removed, there should be plenty of room to remove the heater core cover. The actuator is mounted on top of that cover.

It is possible to replace the actuator without dash removal.

Thanks guys. I did buy mine yesterday (5/9) on gmpartsdirect.com for $29.76 + */h for a total of $37.71 "out the door."

Well, given what you said about installing it with the dash still in place, I'm just going to leave it off until I get the part in. It'* much easier to work with what I can see v. touch.

Adam out.

Fixed the car and put it back together last week Wed and Thurs. Had a few problems with the center console.

Anyway, the air and heat works fine now. The cold isn't very cold. Think I need a recharge.

The actuator was broken. I destroyed the old one to look inside it and the large gear attached to the spindle arm was cracked and broken, so the arm was loose on the gears. So, when the motor turned on to move door, the arm wouldn't move because the gear would slip on the center hole due to the crack in it.

Later.
