The codes are read through the connector right thurr under the steering wheel, but you need a special scanner to do it.

When mine was diagnosed, they hooked up at the EBCM connector.

I imagine you could do it at either place. The data line goes all of the way back to the DLC. Although it appears you would have to disconnect the harness at the EBCTM in order to check it.

Correct. It was an 'inline' harness, plugged between the EBCM and the harness.

I have an AUTOXRAY SCANNER pretty high tech i can scan any Auto or truck OBD1 or 2

I don't think it would be worth it to purchase the reader. All I know it as is a 'serial reader' for ABS/TC. In my area, only the dealers have it.

I've seen some out there, very $$$$, like a Tech 1 or a Tech 2.
