Default '99 Taillight bulbs...

I have been to several websites (Autozone, Sylvania) and even visited PepBoys... and they all call for the use of 3156, 3157 series bulbs for my taillights. Luckily, I didn't purchase, because when I got home, I checked, and to my surprise, I have the older, bayonet-style 1156, 1157 bulbs.

Its a '99 Bonneville SLE, I have had since 40K, and I see no reason to believe that the rear wiring harness would have been replaced, but I'm confused. Why do I have such old-style bulbs. My '91/'92 Firebirds use 3157s, IIRC.

I haven't checked yet, but I'm pretty sure my front parking lights are 1157NAs, as well.

What'* going on here? I'd prefer the brighter 31xx series... but I was likely going to put LEDs in all around, anyway.

Thanks,

Bucky.

I just bought 3157 bulbs for my 99 SLE, and I'm going to have a look tomorrow.

I have found that the backup lamps are also listed at the wedge 31XX style but on every single light I've gotten from the yards..it'* the old push down and turn style.

It'* listed wrong for sure..and in more than 100 places.
