Well, the blower started working on the way home last night. I got it home and in the garage and when it is blowing you can hear it sqealing from under the hood. I think the heater motor is bad. I picked one up today and will install tonight. I don't think the car is heating like it should either though. I also picked up a thermostat. It never gets to 200 like it used too. I'm not sure I got the actuator calibrated correctly either. It blows warm but not real hot air like it did before.

Well we have heat agian. It was the blower motor.
Where should my temp gauge run when going down the hwy? It is about a 1/4 inch below the 200 mark. I'm thinking I need a thermostat but am not sure.
Any thoughts?

I don't want to mislead you, but I just replaced my actuator on my 2000 Silverado. I had to turn the temp **** (manual) to full cold, then remove the HVAC 1 fuse, turn my key to "run" for a couple of minutes, turn the key off and replace the fuse. You probably have the climate controls so I don't know if this would apply or not. Someone with a FSM might know.

Calibration should be relatively simple. Pop the rod off the airmix door arm, set the climate control temperature to max (99 deg, or whatever it is), wait for the airmix actuator to move to the full-heat position, force the airmix door arm as far right (to the passenger side) as it will go, then snap the rod back in place. Might take a couple long, thin screwdrivers to do it.
I don't know if having the car at operating temperature makes a difference or not, but it wouldn't hurt to have the engine warm...

Thanks again..everything seems to be working again. I think I will still put a new thermostate in it when I get time but we have pretty good heat now. I did recalibrate the actuator again.
