Yeah I agree with you on that one! Now when I jack it up, will I be able to see the struts too? Can I check to see if they are any good or not? What do I look for and (dumb question here) what does a strut look like???

the strut is the long tube inside the spring to check if the are good look for fluid leaking out where the piston meets the tube

I took my Bonneville in for an oil change so while it was up on the hoist the guy checked everything around the tires and found nothing wrong with it. Struts were good, everything was tight, Tires didn't shake when he tried to shake them.

He had no explanation except that it was okay structurally and would not be dangerous to drive or anything. So I guess I will live with it for a while. He did say it might be that the car has been sitting in the driveway for 8 months too, might need to time to loosen up he said.

Okay some more info that may or may not help. On city road it is bouncy and clunky. On a smooth (good paved road) runs as smooth as can be. I did notice once or twice tonight that it felt like my drivers seat was bouncing over stuff. Yet nothing is loose! Any more ideas guys (and gals!)

Check the actual tire.
It could have a bad belt.
Did you curb it at all recently?

Bad belts in tires feel like lumps on the tire. These are bad, If the tire has lumps anywhere, replace it.

What you are looking for is lumps in the sidewall or on the tread it self, take your hand and slowly run it around the tire, I say slowly because a whole half of the tire could be damaged and you wouldn't feel it unless you did this slow.
Check both front tires, inside the wheel well and out.

Actually I put the tires off the totalled one on the new one. They are like brand new.

It is getting better now that it has been run for a while. I think it was just tight from sitting in the guys driveway for over 8 months. It is steering better now. It is liveable now but thanks for the advice!
