I'm having a problem with the pad not fitting into the grooves in the caliper. The 1/2" holes in the caliper are 4 1/8" apart and the clips on the pads are 3 1/8" apart. I matched the old pads to the new pads and they're identical. I don't have the cores anymore since they were returned but they're telling me that the holes are 4 1/8" apart. Is it possible that'* the way they're supposed to be since I've never installed brakes that way before? See picture below. I've now tried two rebuilt calipers from two different suppliers and they're both the same.

What am I missing?

Frank...that'* how they are supposed to look. I know it'* odd that they put the holes where they do...I think it'* to mess with us.

The holes match a locating pin on the pad. The first time I changed mine, I thought the spring fingers should pop into the holes too, but after comparing it to the old pad I saw that the way your pic shows is exactly right.

Thanks everyone, the brakes are back together again with new ceramic pads, rebuilt calpers with guide pins and rotors. And yes I bleed the brakes.
