What a great feeling when I found out that I didnt have to replace the starter! Priceless! In fact, the hardest part of this repair was having to reset the the clock and radio presets on the Pioneer HU!

I can't emphasize enough...check the simple things first. Sometime you can catch some low-hanging fruit.

I've had the same issue with my SLE. Had to wiggle the cable with my fingers, and the car started right up. It would power accessories, but wouldn't carry enough current to turn the starter over.

You know its a funny thing. The night it happened, I tightened and wiggled that terminal, and even had the jump cables on it, and it still wouldnt budge the starter. I would have thought that little bit of tightening would have made at least an intermittent contact good enough to engage the starter, but it didnt. The corrosion was so thick, I had to use a pocket knife to scrape, and some corrosion remover to thoroughly clean them.

A clicking starter usually means you don't have enough power to spin it over. No response is a typical bad starter or other issue.

And heck...corrosion is corrosion. Clean it up and off you go. Glad to have been helpful John.
