On this last issue. it'smost likely a wire or connector that isn't sealed well and the water get into it and causes the miss.

A small spray bottle of water and little time spraying the engine in small areas should closely pinpoint the cause.

If you're referring to plug wires, then try to get Beldens from NAPA.

Or Autolite Professionals or AC Delco wires.
All have been found to be good lifetime wires.
