this morning we lab scoped it while it was cold and running good and the 18x signal looked different (more consistant) than when warm and running bad. I then pulled the balancer and checked the tone ring, and that looked ok, so i ordered another crank sensor and installed it and took it for a ten mile ride and all was good. Looks like it was a defective crank sensor. I'm going to drive it again before we close but it looks like its fixed.
