Default 92 Bonneville SSE Problems

Okay if someone can help me I would greatly appreciate any advice I know nothing about these Bonnevilles even though I have owned two of them. I have just recently replaced the battery on my Bonneville, because it would not start now it starts but I if I let it sit and idle it shuts off, also if I am driving it will just shut off whenever it wants. I don't know much about that kind of stuff but if someone does I can relay the message to the individual who helps me fix my car. Also right before it shuts off the "service engine soon" light comes on and on my little car screen the "check gages" light comes on. anyone that has information please let me know thanks

Can you check the gauges before the car shuts down?

Sounds like it may have somehting low or high, and there'* a safety that is shutting it down.

If we can get the code the computer stores when the Check Engine light comes on, it would help a lot.

Here is how to get the code if you don't have a scanner:

Here is how to interperet what you get, assuming your SSE isn't supercharged:

If you get a code 19 like recently got, it is likely the crankshaft position sensor.

I'm also wondering with the car being a 92.. possible baffles in the fuel tank.
