Set your thermistor to the right resistance then plug it in. VATS is now bypass. There could be always be something else wrong with the system, but you won't know until you start it. This bypass usually fix the security light/not starting problem.

Roboticjunkey what type of thermistor should i use theres hundreds of types, i found the orange wire, i think its the individual one not attached to any other wires. Because theres 2 orange wires and ones individual and ones attached to 5 wires im guessing this is the turn signal wires or something

It'* a orange sleeve and inside of it has the 2 white wires.

Here'* a better how to.
https://www.gmforum.com/electrical-133/bypass-vats-92-99-a-279119/

There'* 15 different resistances/key values your car can have. This thermistor will work with the all key values except for #15 since that one is higher than 10k.

No dice.

This is the correct way because you don't want the signal to go through the ignition lock cylinder any more.

No problem.

I did this same thing to my Caddy about 2 1/2 years ago, but my VATS module was also bad, which might have been the my original problem.

I would get the starter tested.

On my Caddy, sometimes my starter will click 2 or 3 times before it will start, but I think ripping out the Bose stereo system probably has something to do with my problem.
