check it will a scanner? i could also be that your t-stat is stuck open

Well I am pretty sure mine reads just above the first notch and gets to the middle when sitting there idling with the A/C on. There is NO WAY it should be at the 3/4 mark. THAT would be close to over heating.

SO my question is, if everyone is reading about the same temp ( somewhere between 1/4 and half) and one person has it reading at 3/4, who has the problem?

How could my car only run at 125* when a '92 is looking at temps close to 200*? There is no way the difference is that large. Looks to me, like I am not the one with the problem. I cannot find anything about an average temp in my FSM, so I do not know how to find out who is correct, and who is not. There is no way that an engine can reach only a maximum temp of 125* with a 195* tstat from the factory. It would never open! And, with that, the car would then overheat, and no car can overheat at 125*. So just because majority has one thing, does NOT mean it is the right thing. You guys all have a problem, and you need to look into it. First step is to clean that ground. If your temp gauge is still reading 125*, then you need to check into your cooling system.

Your voltage and oil pressure are slightly higher than mine. And your temp gauge is lower than mine was before I fixed that ground. Mine was sitting at the 1/4 mark, or just a hair higher.

Ummmm....something about this comment doesn't ring quite right to me, either. That'* WAY off normal. Take another look at Don'* reply and pic above.

My temp gauge reads 210 as the max temp.. in my new cluster. Don't know what my old one reads. I left that in the trunk, so I cannot check either. Kinda have a snowstorm here.

Well my temp gauge does run a bit higher than yours, a bit above the 1/4 mark, but then again I do have a 192 stat in it ( stock which should be changed), my voltage is about the same and it should be around that or a bit higher when cold ( I mean really cold) since that middle mark is 12V and when running the car is supposed to be at 14.4V.

So to me you temp ( for the stat you have) is fine and dandy, and your battery gauge is also fine and dandy. Now your oil pressure does seem a bit high compared to mine ( I think), but I never really looked closely at it. I usually remember the battery ( since I changed the alt twice in 6 months) and the temp gauge. But Renée could probably tell me what pressure the car runs at since she drives it on a daily basis and I have taught her to check the gauges to make sure the car was running properly .

Jr, that is right where I am running. It sounds like that is about right according to everyone else. The previous post talking about 1/4 mark being about 180, and the half mark being about 210 sounds about right. I wish the factory would just put numbers on there.
