It sounds like something that happened to me. I was at a set of lights and when I went to go, I just heard a bang and the rpms and speed went up but I didn't move. It ended up being the splines in the tranny that let go so one of the axles would spin and go nowhere.

I'm really sorry to hear the news, especially because your car is in such great shape. I'm sure you could go to the wrecker and get a second hand tranny for pretty cheap?

If you do part out though, I would be interested in the drivers side headlight w/the amber part if it is in good shape.

I do have a spare tranny sitting here, but I dont want to risk it. Its $500 to swap the tranny and I have to get a computer becasue this tranny is slighty different casue its from a Buick Lesabre t-type. not only that the repair for the cam will cost me around the same price. So im look at 1g for a fix.. and whatever the hell is wrong with my electrical probley cost a little more. plus a safety on top of that..

I would like to thank everyone for there help, the car was scrapped. I got my lousy $45 and now im without a car. Btw someone asked for a drivers side headlight, it was in bad shape the light bulb wouldent clip in properly. So I didnt bother with it. The rest I gave to my brother for his 3.8 in his buick.

cheers..

Default What part is the CamSensor?

Hey....looking at your pictures, can you tell me what part is the cam-sensor? I notice that in the top picture, right beside the water-pump there'* a hole that'* loaded up with what looks like grease...then in the next picture below that hole beside the water pump is emptied. Is that the cam-sensor location?
One more question....could your original cam problem have been related to a faulty fuel-injector? I'm only asking because my car right now has got a misfire & I've changed the Coil-pack, still misfires, I read your post about the cam-interrupter & I'm willing to change that but I figure maybe the problem is really the injector(*). Is $120/each too much to be paying per injector? Eventually I'll do the whole engine overhaul but right now I would love to cure this misfire.
