I have an 88 LE here. so far alt and starter have been replaced and i need to get my idle speed and tachometer fixed. other than that with 79k on it it drives great. I'm tring to make it look like a brand new SSE modle.

i have a ton of pics that will be avilibly on my friends web site soon. all ranging from when i got it to what it looks like now. I'll post when they are up

My mechanic told me my muffler was rotting, can anyone suggest a good replacement system that sounds and looks cool (preferably a dual system).

tamara, do u still have yr 89. i would like to c a pic of it.

I love the look of this year 87-91 . I wish my money was not all locked up I would love to pick one up. The Oldsmobile has a similar looking ride very nice. I also like the size and with the crazy hp that can be had from the series 2, 3.8 or the 5.0,V8.
With a racing suspension and the magic 400hp this would be awesome.

How do you post pics here? Don't have any on the web.
Cool SSE man, I like the older SSE Bonnevilles, 88-91 models. I like the 89'* the best, the 90 and 91 had some changes compared to the 88-89 SSE, so they rode and drove diffrent. And how did you manage to find this car in the junk yard? And what person would send this car there, with only 89,000 miles on it, which is nothing for a 3800 engine. And yours is the color I want... I need to find one of these 89 Bonneville SSE'* as if 2 bonnies aren't enough Take good care of that Bonnie, seems that most people here in Florida don't tend to let go of their SSE bonnevilles.... Nice Ride Guy
I lucked out--I've been looking for one of these since they 1st came out! The yard had just gotten it painted and put 4 new tires on it--all for $2000!!
Thanks for the compliment--I love it too!!
I just bought a set of the silver lace wheels that I'm thinking of putting on--too much red. Do you guys think the 245/50'* would work? I bet it would handle great!!

With 16 inch rims the 50 series won't throw the speedo off that much. Probably only 4 or 5 percent and some shops can correct that if you look around your area.

The 245/50'* will lower the car almost half an inch though.

Does that 87 have the gfx package on it?
amazing what you can find in a junkyard nowadays! (found mine there too)
I scored a MINT set of grey GTA seats from a turbo Grand Am(89)--those seats were optional for that year I'm guessing(they were original to the car).
gotta get some pics of your friend'* ride.

Glad your buddy was able to save it from the wrecker!!
Those miles sound a bit high--but it also depends how they were accumulated too. How'd it look? I do 175 miles round trip a day-but I try to take car of my car--w/the regular maintenance and stuff.
