are you talking about the rear brake lights or the brake warning light? ill assume youre talking about the rear brake lights, my first guess would be that the switch is stuck and that you either need to replace it or get it unstuck somehow.

if its the brake warning light (the one in the car) then check your e-brake to see if its stuck

In addition to what goldenbullet said, check to make sure your brake fluid is full in the reservoir (brake light on dash) and that the switch on the parking brake isn't stuck.

Is it the yellow and red brake lights? If so, your ABS accumulator? (forgot what its called) might be failing. It'* common on the Teves ABS system. I would get it checked first to see if it is that is failing.

i dont believe that the obd 1 can scan the abs system...im not 100% sure on that. but i would think it has something to do with the teves system, im not very affiliated with that tho.
