Is there a way to reset the climate control? Here is what I find. I have a 1991 sse, if I turn the heat to 31C I get great heat regardless if it is on econ or auto. but if I turn it down to the next lowest temperature which is 28C the fan drops a couple notches and moves from only floor to both floor and vents which I think it should do but it seems like the AC cicks in and will not stay at 28C. If I then turn it back to 31C the heat and fans pick up instantly. Seems to me like the temperature seems to need recalibration or something???

im pretty sure it resets the same way as your ECM. just unplug the battery for 30+ minutes or some time liek that.

You're likely having problems with some of the temperature sensors. I'm not sure how to do the diagnostics on the earlier models.

Well I will try the reset by taking off the battery cable and see if that helps. If someone does know where the temperature sensors are can you tell me. I also have noticed with the whole system in the off position I get alot of heat comming out of the bottom vents. The fan is off I know this for sure but still heat. I was reading in other posts that maybe my door does not open and close all the way. Is this accessible from the glove box? and if so how do I remove the glove box?

The hot/cold diverter if you have ATC is a rod that goes from the programmer to the door. If you remove the glovebox it is the only horizontal rod you will see. I believe that full right is hot and full left is cold. Also think it defaults to the hot position if the rod falls off.

Once too much was stuffed in my glove box and it overflowed in the back which jammed the rod in one position.

So how did you remove the glove box?

Was years ago but think I just removed all of the screws around the inner face and pulled it out. May have been some I did not need to remove.

open the glove box, and on both rear sides, you will see a rubber stopper. slightly lift the glove box and pull the stoppers down and drop the glove box. the glove box will now fall down as far as it can go. if you need to remove it completely (which i doubt) you can remove the screws that run along the bottom and it will just pull out.

FYI- had same issue, HVAC module needed to be re-calibrated. The HVAC PCM door setting and the actual door setting didnt match. The dealer said becuase i disconnected my battery cable. Dont know how true that was tho. I had to do it b/c my twilight sentinel kept sticking on and would not go off for nuthin. it happened a couple of times.
be careful playing wit it too much before you get it re-calibrated. that rod they are talking about has a little plastic white gear that opens the vent door and it will break teeth if you play with it too much out of calibration. mine eventually stripped and the doors were all screwed up until i got it replaced. That was a lot more expensive then getting teh PCM recalibrated

to re-calibrate they just stick teh computer on the car, look at the real door position, then the door position the PCM thinks its it, if it doesnt match, they move the door to the right percentage point to match the PCM reading.
