Default Radio Presets Mysteriously reset

Has anyone had this problem? I had preset the radio to my favorite stations about 2 weeks ago and it worked fine until yesterday when I went to change the radio with the steering wheel preset button and the presets had been mysteriously reset. I had just parked the car to do some shopping and all was well until I came out to drive home. The radio is factory for the 2002 SLE (cassette/single CD player).

Maybe it got switched to FM2 or FM1 which ever is not your normal one. Or it could be on the other driver.

Default Radio mysteriously lost presets

How would I know if it is on a different driver. I understand FM1 and FM2. I just had a new remote programmed and maybe that is the reason. I may have used a different remote which set it to a different driver. I will try to duplicate the problem. Thanks

When I first got my car, this same problem drove me nuts until I finally figured out that it depended on which set of keys I was using. Set 1 was mine and everything was set to my preferences but if I grabbed my wife'* set (set 2), everything changed. Try using the same set of keys consistently and see if that cures the problem. If you only have one driver, set the preferences for both keys the same.

Thanks for the inputs. My wife asked me the same thing yesterday when she went to drive home from work and the radio station had switched from her morning drive station. Fortunately I had read the post and had an answer for her. These posts are a priceless source of information. Thanks

I had the same problem, and so did my wife.

I *always* used my set of keys, but she would use both. Of course she got mad and reprogrammed the seats, radio presets, and mirrors for me.

I didn't figure it out until she complained that her name wasn't showing up in the DIC all the time.

Default here'* some humor

well here is some humor for you. the bonny had to have a steering sensor put in it right after i bought it, so the dealership gave me a loaner to drive while it was being repaired. they gave me a ford explorer all decked out. my wife and i went to pick up the kids from the sitters and on the way back the radio would mysteriously change on it'* own. after about 5 miles of this i was at my wits end with it . i was about to be liable for the repair on this possessed radio . then my wife and 7 yr old son went too laughing franticly , my son had found the controls too the radio located in the rear of the arm rest and would change the station just as soon as i changed it back. normally it'* me playing pranks on the kids and the wife but this time i can honestly say that my son and wife truely got me good.

It sounds like your family enjoys playing tricks on dad. this is a neat feature for the Bonneville only my wife and I listen to the same stations. I could use it to play a trick on her though.

Have any of you 2000+ had your DIY personalized to show driver 1'* name, and driver 2'* name?

I know it puts a smile on my face when I get in, start the car, and and it shows 'Justin' in the DIY center. Didn't cost anything!

(Freddi is just a nickname, Justin is my real name)
