Default 90 le with problems

i have a 90 le w/ many problems but the one im most concerned w/ is the tranny slipping on the 2nd to 3rd shift. it wont do it at full throtle but does it every other time. started about 3 mounths ago. need to know whats eaiser and cheeper, $50 junkward tranny or try to fix the old one?

Sounds like a 50 dollar tranny is a good idea. Repairing the old one will run you about 2k.

Have you had a scantool on it while driving?

which ratio tranny would you recomend? since the junkyard near me has about 9 bonnys my style. right now i have the 2.84 and it kinda sluggish.

Fire off a PM to jr's3800 and link him to this post. He'* done alot of investigation and book-work on ratio'* of your gen. Maybe even Jim W. Those 2 guys will know all your options and whether it'll mess with anything in the ECM if you change it.
