Code 26 still... QDM... I know I got the car into 3rd gear after I reset the codes, so the code 27 didn't show itself...
With these gear shift codes, are they solenoids that are supposed to be malfunctioning or what? Is it all internal in the tranny that there is problems with those sensors? I'm wondering if my tranny fluid change fixed those 3 codes (27, 29 and 39)

The only solenoid it has is for the TCC apply...
The transmission has a 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear switches... The computer uses this info to determine what gear the trans is in for TCC apply and some general load conditions... The ECM has to see that the car is in 3rd or 4th gear to be able to apply the TCC lock up clutch... If it doe not see the 3rd or 4th gear switch the TCC will not lock up..
Example... The 3rd gear switch goes bad, computer does not know thw trans is in 3rd gear so there will be no TCC apply in 3rd gear... Then when you get into 4th gear, lets say this switch is good and the computer sees the trans is in 4th gear and at the right speed the computer will command the TCC lockup solenoid on which applies the TCC clutch..
Do you understand how the switches relater to what the Computer is looking for?
The code 26 is for the quad drive module... You need to know what is on that circuit to be able to hunt the problem down.. Good Luck

Ok, I see what your saying... I was thinking that it was a solenoid for each gear, and the computer would tell the tranny when/how to shift... so its just letting the computer know what its doing... but the TCC has a solenoid to engage it...
But why would those codes go away... yes I replaced the TPS, and changed the tranny fluid, and cleaned the tranny plug... maybe it was cleaning the plug, or changing the fluid, i don't know...
And at looking at the FSM, it could be something as simple as the purge canister... glad I grabbed that off of a 90 Bonne SSE with only 130k km'* on it... I'll try that tommorow morning... lol... I'm so close to having that damn light stay off...
