Funny..your surge at 45-50 reminds me of what happened to me. Felt the tranny was shifting when I was holding steady between that speed.
Then was told it was something about torque converter lockup or something...Glad whatever it was is gone. Have a good trip up here next week.

wilwren, I guess it was a good idea to get a tune up since I didn't have all of the maintance records on the car. Do notice that the engine is a little more responsive now with new plugs and wires. Noticed that when the mech took it for a test drive one of my taillights was out. I told him about it when he got back. He said he could replace it. I told him no. He would probably have charged me 5.00 for the bulb and 10.00 for labor. Did it myself.

bonnie94sse, The sympton you described is exactly what I was getting. Haven't had the surge since replacing the plugs and wires. Will see what happens. (knock on wood). Do you know any more about this torque converter lockup symptom? Is this a bad thing and is it repairable?
