Default Surge problem with my SSEi only when warmed up.

OK. When the car is just warm enough to drive safely, if I leave and give it half throttle, the car will spin the tires and pull extremely hard. However, once it warms up, when I give it gas it will surge and run much worse. I am not sure what this problem is. I am running ??? boost as it pegs the needle; I do not have a mechanical gauge installed.

Could the boost control solenoid be causing this problem?? I put the one off of the white Bonneville on the Black one and it seemed to help but it was still a used BCS.

What do I need to look for?? I used to have torque steer so bad I really had to "drive" the car when jumping on the throttle. NOw, when I jump on it, the car will hesitate and once in a great while actually make a pop sound then kill the engine.

Default suggestion...

Dear Ryan,

I have a '86 Buick T-Type that did the same kinda thing... When you got heavy into the throttle / into the boost at all, the motor would pop and spit and backfire and sometimes kill the car. Everyone we asked had a different suggestion. Long story short, I spent about $300 on new coil packs, batteries and other stuff all to find out that two of my spark plug wires were corroded through!
New wires fixed the whole problem! I'm new at these Bonnevilles, I just grabed a '92 SSEi last week, but I hope this helps a bit!

Default

Makes sense. I'll check the wires out.
