Default HELP PLEASE, UPGRADING STEREO!

I know that there are probably some post out there already with this but anywho.... I have the stock cassette player in my '92 ssei and want to upgrade to a pioneer head unit ( P/N DEH-P2600). I was wondering if it was possible to obtain the use of my stearing wheel controls and if so, what parts will i need to do it (cost included, im on a budget). I would appreciate some help here. Thanks!

First you have to ensure that your deck is remote control compatible.

Then you'll need to get a kit from crutchfield or similar to allow it to run the buttons on your wheel.. I dont' have the link for that kit.. but I"m sure someone here does.

Would i be able to install it myself? I went to google and searched that and i found this would the bonneville be under the one that says "General Motors: any 1992-and up vehicle with steering wheel airbags and climate controls"? And would that work with a Pioneer head unit part number DEH-P2600? And how does it work?

yes you can do it yourself, its just time consuming

that is the correct model

it would work with a pionner 2600 cuz it has a wireless remote

what the unit does it send out a wireless signal when you press a steering wheel button. when you press the button, it goes into the pac swi-x, and that unit sends a wireless infared signal to the cd player. you have you mount the little transmitter, most people with bonnevilles put them in the shifter **** boot. as long as there is a visible view from the transmitter to the cd player, you are good

Does anybody have one of these and can you tell me how, where, and how long it will take to set up. It would be nice to have a walk through of it.
