*.O.*.!! Harmonic Balanacer is shot! HELP!!
Started it this morning and bang, then major gindage. I thought is was the bearings in the super charger, ran it about 20 miles to get to the dealership. It turns out my crankshaft pulley is going bad. Had to leave it there. They are going to order another one for 225 dollars, i told them to hold off unitl i got to work and talked to all you wonder people about an after market crank pulley for the series I 3800. Doe sanyone have any info on this?
WillWren, you replaced pulleys on yours correct? was one of them the crank pulley? if so, where did ya get it?
Please help!!! This is also my daily driver so im in a rental car for now.

very true, and 225 dollars is better then 1000 dollars for a new supercharger. (which i already replaced about 1 yr ago. )
I just hate these grand AMs they keep sticking me with. I'm tall, and i feel like my knees in my chest. I asked them if i could get a '03 Bonneville SSEi for laoner but they wouldnt go for it.

Been there, done that!
Mine conveniently went out WHILE the dealer was changing my oil! I dropped it off and it ran fine. Went to pick it up and when I started it, it made that aweful noise. I went in and had them come out and start it. It cost me $270.00 parts and labor.

really? i got a serious issue with my bill then! They told me 225 for the part this morning, i just called and its done, and the bill is 397.00!! (I did a MAF screen, super charger oil and the loaner tho heh)
Its amazing that those mechanics didnt here it when they pulled it out! OR maybe it went when you started it? Did it sound like a backfire on the first crank? My had a loud pop. It was definitely fine when i pullled it into the garage last night.

The */C oil is somewhere around $60. (I asked about it when on the same trip my balancer went out. I wound up doing it myself).
When mine went out it was a very loud PING upon startup and then it ran fine. I freaked out when I heard it and turned it off. I then tried it again and experienced the same sickening metalic PING. I didn't even put it in gear--went back in and had someone else come out to hear it. I thought that they would cover it since I hadn't moved the car--but alas, they said that they all go out in time and that it was a mere coincidence that it happened at their shop.

OMG! it cost 60 bucks!?! I never even asked. They didnt do anything with it, i have it in my jacket pocket. I was going to check it on my own and top off as needed. There sure isnt much of it! its in a little squirt bottle. like a pint.
sounds like it just happened as you started it ironically. LOL on mine you could only here the noise idling or at low RPMs but it was horrifying, when i stepped on the gas it went away. (which gave me the slightest glimmer of hope it wasnt my SC bearings)
