My antenna is actually magnetic, so I can just stick it on the roof if I wanted to. No adhesive needed.

Now at least it is safe from weather and vandalism.
The little adhesive pad doesn't work that well. Warm the glass up with a blow drier and use 1/2" inch trim tape

No problems with leakage into the trunk.

It scratches the paint real easy.
That'* why I advocate using the trim tape and mounting it on the back window

Well I was downtown Calgary last night, amongst the tall buildings, and lost the signal only once for a matter of a second. So I think it is doing just fine on the rear deck, but its good to know I can move it back to the window if need be.

Mine'* magnetic too, but I don't trust it not to scratch the paint.

dbeast, which unit do you have?

good choice to keep it on the inside window on the rear deck.

Scratching IS GOING TO HAPPEN, I only know because it happened to me!!! Also if you leave it on the trunk or any surface it magnatizes(sp?) to it will dis-color the paint, kinda like on a refrigerator, also something I figured out over time :(
