I just checked my Fuel economy on the highway @ 85 MPH. in 3 miles at 85, I averaged 19 MPG.

I don't even get that on my ecotec. But then again at the same speed my engine runs at 3100 RPM...

I believe it. Somehow GM makes V8s that get unheard of mileage. The C5 Vette gets 26mpg on the highway.

I thought about eventually getting a SRT8 but they get hidious mileage. I'll just wait for the 2009 Impala SS with the vortec 6.2L that will probably get 25mpg.

The C6 gets that mileage (it'll actually do better if you know what you're doing) because of it'* insane 6th gear.

And Smellbird and I both got 40mpg (121 miles, 3 gallons) on the way to Mississauga back in March 04 going thru michigan.
