My whine is not as loud as Bill'* but I think thats due to my large rpulley size and my 7" cone (compared to his what 9"?) I need to open my exhaust too so that should increase the whien some what. You can hear it clearly through the run, just not as intimidating as I would like. For the most part Ethyn was pretty good and quiet. I think he may even grow up to be a grease monkey as he was getting into all the tools and the oil and mustang parts....

1st and 2nd gear you have to really expect the torque steer or your going to be in the other lane. With the rockers that torque steer is now noticeable in 3rd gear as well but its not as likley to throw you into oncomming traffic (or off the side of the road).

Do you have any numbers on this yet that you care to share?

(nevermind...I found them in the other post.)

Rogue, our cones are very similar in size, actually. Mine is just broader than it is long. I think the real reason the 00+ don't sound like the older cars is that I have a cleaner path to the outside from behind the headlamp assembly. It really lets the noise out.

I have a friend at work that retrofitted a Jetta with an M45 Eaton. He told me that at just the right angle on my car, it sounds like I have a straight-cut manual gearbox. You can actually hear the nosedrive gears. This angle is pretty much dead on to the headlight.

Yours has a little higher pitch than mine. I think you're trapping the lower tones in the engine compartment.
