Are you able to keep these on at night? cause somebody was saying that these headlights needed the entire area of the housing so it could project a decent beam of light, or is it not covering enough to even worry about? looks great man, did you cut the clear covers or just paint a section of them?
I painted a section of them. I have no way to cut them nicely, and I don't think they would be able to stay secure if I did cut them. The clear part is hardly noticeable.
I leave them on since it covers enough to look good, but not enough to block significant amounts of light. I actually don't do too much night driving so it works out good anyway.
My main night driving is done on Friday and Saturdays sometimes when I'm eating some Rice for a late night snack

Hope you were close to a bathroom. I got the clear covers from a local Autozone. I got a second pair before that from a website but they "lost" my order. I just got those from him.
Stay tuned, I'll be making some custom "projector style" looking covers soon, just for show. Get ready to mess yourself again.
They were about $48-$50. I put a good 6 or 7 coats (I lost track) of my green color, just so I knew no light would come through, then a good 4, maybe 5 coats of clearcoat. Smoothed it out and took off the masking tape carefully.
For the next covers I plan on painting the inside of them so I won't have to sand it afterwards, plus the paint won't get scratched from the outside. It looks just as good if not better that way.

That looks amazingly good maybe you should go into production
I know a few people that would buy a few sets. I just cant get over how awesome that looks...
How far down from the top did you come with the paint?

If you look closely @ the lights there are lines that run across the headlight. I put the covers on and followed the second line down from the top (I think...I'd have to check it). It'* maybe about a third of the way down in the front. Try to get an idea from the pics at cardomain. Thanks for the comments! I think it'* the best 'vanity' thing I could've done for it. It really made a difference.
I wouldn't mind doing some for anyone who wants them. Anyone on the forum can let me know. I may do it locally too since I detail cars also.
