wintboy's reminds me of Pinky's old car, which I see from time to time.

BTW, I'm vacationing in Chicago right now, so no time to get bad pics. Really, the only cosmetic (READ cosmetic) issue is a bit of paint chipped off the front lip and a little chip by the power antenna. These will be covered up the next was with touch-up paint. NO rust :-D

the real sad thing is... this car is obviously now 18 years old and does not have ONE dent in the body...its demise is going to be rust, plain and simple..it really is sad if you ask me...if it wasn;t rusty, it would be a perfect car

Kinda like this:
Green spoiler, pitted bumper, rust on exhaust (only rust on car). driviers' side of the trunk is too high.
Attachment 55223

Wrecked when I bought it, never painted. Gray fender, green hood, pitted and cut bumper, cracked windsheild.
Attachment 55224

Total lack of hubcaps. TxkAutoX doesn't allow them and I'm not putting them back on after a run. Windsheild trim doesn't fit right.
Attachment 55225

Of course my DD is worse...

And No, I don't own a dodge or know anybody that does... That's the car in Lillingham NC where I bought it.

OK. Here we go:
SR-71 is realy not in bad shape. It's main problem is paint wear.

Attachment 55116

Attachment 55117

Attachment 55118

Attachment 55119

If it wern't for these 2 flaws, (which will eventually be remedied as I continue to hunt salvage yards) my interior could be considered imaculate:

1)Bad splits in my driver's seat. I did mend them together with black RTV, which is holding together wonderfully. But as soon as I find another seat this one is gonna be garage furniture.

Attachment 55120

2)Dash warp. Seeing this just drives me bonkers!! Also will be replaced when a suitable doner is found.

And yes, my engine was still running after I rolled. Drove it home as pictured.

Scratch on the hood
https://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a7...er/misc143.jpg

This mark appeared mysteriously overnight while parked in the garage. "Wasn't Me" did it...according to the kids...suspiciously the same height as a certain handlebar on a bike. :?
Attachment 55105

Strange chip marks on the top of the passenger door frame
Attachment 55106

Misc scratchs here and there... it's hard to see here, but there's cancer bubbling under my gas door...I've since discovered a small hole (by design) that allows water to drain behind the fender...so much for washing the car with the gas door open.
Attachment 55107

Not pictured... cancer on the underside of the hood. :?

Oh yea...how could I forget...the remains of a white cavalier on the rear bumper. I'll have to post that up later.

SSEimatt93 01-13-2007 08:25 AM

Our cars are starting to show there age..
Yet STILL turn heads!

PS Pete...they aernt the angle eyes, they are the OEM ones with the SS's insinde

bonnie94ssei 01-13-2007 12:00 PM

Oh  I didn't know I sent those to someone! lol Who has my angel eyes :?

You're right about turning heads. No one else sees our defects except us (for the most part).

Car had body work before I bought it and the emblem is about 1" higher than it should be.
Sure is a lot of ugliness in this thread.

Well I can bump uglies with the the best of you guys.

Here are my two.

The first one was caused by entering the GM dealer lot in my town and wiping out the ram air scoop. I've lost 5 so far to low curbs.

The last one was when I backed into the neighbours wood pile.........don't ask :!:
I'm gonna get it fixed this spring. ;) ......my Butt is ugly enough without a patched scar.

let's see, the not photod:
leather gone from shifter
leather gone from steering wheel
carpet stained beyond oblivion
leather is extremely dirty, been cleaning on it for more than a year
hole in one of the headlights
hole in the rear bumper
taillights are messed up on the top
my chrome trim is all messed up
windshield is wavy across the top

No rust though, except in the herpes. Not even under the car.

-new fog in, and light grey paint then painted over with factory color.

other than that pic, (and i'm not going to take pics in the dark tonight),

-dent in my rear passenger door but I knocked most of it out. some hammer marks show but it is better than before
-several scratches around the keyholes on both sides
-several chips on the front bumper (around 5 but all are touched up with paint)
-3 penny sized clearcoat spots on the hood
-clearcoast wear on rear bumper
-missing dash vent
-small crack on my drivers side door panel (very hard to tell)

i think thats it. most arent very noticable, unless you know exactly where they are.
