That'* right, we all know that the camera is kind to our old cars. Many of us have "secrets" that we haven't shown or shared. This thread is aimed at showing the blemishes and everyone knowing that few of our cars are perfect.

Car had body work before I bought it and the emblem is about 1" higher than it should be.

you can see all the defects on the hood, scratches, perminant waterspots, fading...

rock chips have completely gone through the paint all the way down to the plastic

this is the fading/perminant water spots on the hood

tons of little scratches on the mirrors

an extremely weird keying of some type

scratches on back pillar

here you can see the difference between the hood and the fender

not sure what causes these, they do not buff out...what should i do?

same problem, they look like its water forming under the clearcoat or wax...how do i get this off?

Hey Haro, some of that like the key scratching, clear coat failure and chips in the front end can't be fixed, but a ton of that shown in the pictures could easily (OK it would take several hours of work) removed with a polisher. A lot of it like the scratches on the mirrors and the water spots are just on the surface and can be removed with some compound. By hand it would be very time consuming and tiring, but if you can spare a couple hundred bucks for a DA polisher, pads and polish I think you would be very pleased with the results.

That and the stone chipped flares.... I'll have to wait until I get home. I'm sure my camera phone wouldn't show anything. I really have to get it under the halogens to really see it well.
