Out of thr Paint Booth_Into Sanding and Buffing
That does look pretty damn sweet. I was up at a track in michigan last summer and there was a purple monte carlo with that effect on it and it was pretty bad ***, except the guy was a tool, lol. He had chrome wheels and it seemed to "intensify" the effect of his paint. Maybe you should chrome those 18'*???

Sun wouldnt come out but took some pics. Really subdued till ya get 6-8 feet from it and design keeps getting more apparent and deeper. I did best with what I had and hopefully the sun will be out Friday for some better pics after buff. First pic should have been last. It'* the first step in a real finish.

Shadow,
It'* a special effect custom paint job, see this thread:
Custom Shop Paint Job Whorage
And gxp, that color combo looks better all the time. I have to say that the choice to use your cranberry as the base coat was a brilliant choice, even if it was a gamble. That should KILL at shows IMO!!!!

Wow!, Thanx everbody for the great comments and liking it. Was a gamble, and a very expensive one at that. I did car for my own benefit, but also interested in showing car, as I have friends that do. So hearing all the positive response really helps in feeling car will do well.
Shadow, it started as Cranberry Metallic, then Silver Metalflake, then process, then Blood Red Candy, then Clears...Bonniealien I already bought Chrome wheels and waiting anxoiusly. Very popular pattern and the wholesaler'* waiting on a factory delivery, said about a week........I cant tell you how tired i am of waiting. But theres a nice payback coming
Today I stopped in and the clear coats were sanded down smooth, an so dulled looking you couldnt even see the pattern. Stayed for a couple hours and beers with the Owner and watch the gloss come back as they started the first of three buffing passes, each with a finer compound. Even where the first buffing pass was done, The thing is more deeper and visible than the dried gloss. Cant wait to see it done altogether and Post some pics of it totally done.

Thanks Shadow and ya; GXP'* needs lovin too!, When I bought the car my eyes were clouded by price and all the hype I got at dealer, just to come into club and find it was'nt entirely true.
A humbling experience to say the least. But there'* more than one way to skin a N* and I'm trying and appreciate all the kind comments from both sides of the performance fence.
I'm gonna hit the shower and go to town to see progress and have some complimentary beers
Great custom job and "friendly service!" CANT beat it. Hopefully I'll have some new pics on better cam today...stopping at WallyWorld on way to get something better
